Auguste Ventures is a privately owned holding company. We start companies, we buy companies, and we spend the rest of our time making them better.
That structure matters more than it sounds. We invest our own capital, so there is no fund life to manage and no committee to satisfy. Nothing forces us to sell a good business because a clock ran out, and nothing forces us to buy one because capital needs deploying.
What is left is a simpler question, asked once per business: is this something worth owning for a long time? Everything else follows from the answer.
